The Hotel interior fit out oozes welcoming charm and warmth, the moment I walked in the entrance tired from a long trip. All the staff matched the vibe of the hotel with their friendly professionalism. The hallmark of a an excellent hotel is good staff and I couldn’t rate them more highly. Likes ducks paddling - serene on top and making things happened in an unfussed way, despite being busy. It was an aura of calm. I loved the buffet- simple, but well thought out and tasty. Two staff members from the restaurant were particularly generous in sharing their knowledge about the history of the hotel, its contemporary business market and the hotel styling, despite attending professionally to their duties as required. I had to leave early at to catch the Lofoten ferry. The reception staff went the extra mile and offered a breakfast package to take for my journey. All in all, for me it was the full package. I have not rated a hotel this highly before. For my experience I would give it an 11 out of 10 if I could. For this score of excellence it is not just the physical quality of the accommodation. It’s not just the style of the interior decorations or the clear philosophy of management in creating the experience. It’s the people. From end to end it was clear to me they loved working at the Grand. That is infectious. For me it was a Grand and gracious experience. All too rare in today’s world. Thank you.

This was a good option in Bodo. The location is close to major attractions. The breakfast spread was extensive and good quality. I arrived too late to try the dinner. My room was comfortable--pretty typical hotel room. I liked the history of the space and the different items scattered throughout the common areas. Bodo is less touristy than other parts of Norway so I think most hotels are a bit less expensive, but overall this was quite affordable.

Enjoyed the breakfast, fika and dinner. There is no need to book and pay for the hotel's garage car park as there are public car parks right in front of the hotel that becomes free parking from 4pm to 8am. That's if you are only parking your car during those hours. Otherwise, the hotel garage is fine but book early as there are less than 10 lots.

Comfortable beds, best night sleep for a long time, quiet with decent size rooms. The added bonus of afternoon tea, Dinner, and Breakfast being included in the cost of the accommodation was just amazing all three sittings were ample and very tasty. The meals worked out so well as it was raining when we arrived til we left so not having to trudge around trying to find somewhere to eat in the rain was a win win for us. The atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing. We liked the fact that the hotel had retained some of its original features, especially the mirror that survived the bombing in WW2. Staff were welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and also the tea and cakes in the afternoon. It has a very central and convenient location.
